It’s A Miracle!!!

I am not saying that the hubbie isn’t smart, I mean he is the BG (brooding genious) after all, but one could never argue that he is a handy kinda guy. Far, far from being handy. But it must be true what my mom always told me, “just give him time honey they all get better with age.” Yippppe for me cause he fixed my washing machine!!! He actually Took It Apart…Fixed It.. then PUT IT BACK TOGETHER!!!

Just to back track a little. We just returned from vacation last week Wednesday.  We took our girls on the first ever family camping trip. It was super good times. We meet with some of my college friends the weekend before up North at my friend Alicia’s in-law’s cabin. It was really nice and all of our kids loved playing together on the beach. From there we went further North across the Mackinac Bridge, took a fairy ride to Mackinac island.

The BG and Minate on the Ferry to Mackinac Island.

We camped up there for one night on Lake Huron….beautiful full moonlit night. The next day we drove 6 hours (BG wanted to take the senic drive) back down to Muskegon.  We camped on Lake Michigan for a few more days and took the girls to Michigan Adventure’s amusement park, where they partook in their first rollercoaster rides.

Me feeling VERY woozie after getting dizzy with the girls.

Needless to say the BG and I were exhausted when we got back home. I didn’t even bother fully unpacking until the next day.  I had sooo much laundry to do as you can imagine.  Sandy beach towels, campfire smoke saturated clothes…the works. But much to my dismay the grumpy old Mr. Washingmachine refused to spin in a circle. YIKES.  When I sweetly asked the BG to take a look at it he said, “call the repair man.” Uggg.
But a few minutes later I heard him down there tinkering around. Bless his heart, he got on the internet and found a fix-it site and was diagnosing the problem. About 45 min later, he came up to the kitchen with the HUGEST grin on his face. He had figured it out (with the help of the fix-it web man), ordered the part, and proudly annouced that Mr. Washingmachine would be ready to go by Wednesday next week.
Wonder’s never cease…here it is Wednesday and I am going to be doing laundry until the wee hours of the morning. Ahhhh life is sweet!!! And my hubbie is a stud, smart AND handy =)
In between loads I plan to get the binding on three quilts:
1. The little pumpkin guy.
2.  The Thimbleberries pannel quilt (finished yesterday)
3.  A little wall hanging that I made for 4th of July decorating ( and I just quilted it yesterday ..whoops)
That's Sony the Wonder Dog christening the new Thimbleberries panel quilt.

Better late than never. July 4th decor finally quilted.

And after that here are two projects I might try to start.

Pieces of My Heart pattern I want to do in all homespun.

My first raw edge applique quilt with beautiful batiks!!

And last but not least I need to paint the new quilt hanger that my dad made for me a few weeks ago. My dad rocks!! He has made almost ever stick of furniture I have in my house. What is so great about him is I can just describe what I want, and a few hours later he has it made and is asking me, ” Is this what you wanted?”
I wanted just a very simple quilt hanger with hooks and a 5 foot pole to go through pockets on the back of quilts.  This is what he made me.

So as you can see I have my work cut out for me…hmmm to blog or to be productive. I really like blogging so far!!! =)

Love your style!! I have the material for the pumpkin quilt with all the crazy stitching wish I would have started it maybe next year. Love how it looks on your table.

Thank you for the compliment on my style !! I really don’t know if I am just supposed to comment back on the page or send a direct email?? So I figured I would do both just to be safe, but maybe you can school me on that if you get a chance.

Anyway, you will really enjoy doing that pumpkin quilt. The only thing that’s time consuming is the crazy stitching. And you know what? With winter coming it might be a great “sit on the couch and watch t.v” quilt for you!

    Enjoy your day!

Thanks Sara!! You know what I say? Give the 4 Boys one room and put all the boyish stuff in that one, then you take the rest and only let them visit on Sundays =) LOL

Melissa, I love your banner quilt and Sony looks like quite a character. I appreciate your comments on my blog about the Maya Angelou quote. Here’s the entire quote, “We should all know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter their color; equal in importance no matter their texture.” You’ve inspired me to put the entire quote on my page (I originally thought it might be too long), but I’m like you and have so much beautiful diversity right in my own family as you can see from some of my blog entries. Thanks again.
