Monday morning mix (as in there isn’t a theme just bits of everything)

Good MORNING!

Happy Monday !  I am happy to be alive and well!

How was your weekend? We had a slightly lazy weekend. With the exception of running Minate to a birthday party on Saturday, and a little shopping on Sunday, it was pretty chilled out. I was supposed to teach another apron class Sat. , but it was cancelled.

I handed in my Key to Quilt N Go quilt  shop Friday. The kids’ last day of school is Wednesday, so I am off for the summer and we are assuming there will be a move to Oregon before I would return in the fall. That made me sad, but also hopeful of a new beginning. If you are reading this, my dear sweet boss Ruth, I love you and thank-you so much for the best job I ever had!  You’ve taught me so much and made my last 4 years a blast. You’re the best! kiss kiss hug hug.

NEW STUFF NEWS

I got a new leather thimble last week and let me tell you it is the most cozy little thing! I think I might sleep in it! If clover made leather pants and shirts I think I would buy them =)

MALFUNCTIONING NEWS

There must be an iron virus going around. I have been reading on a few blogs about trusty irons pooping out on folks.  And so not to be left out, my Rowenta decided to start acting funny, not heating up and just general misbehavior.  It did this once before so I am assuming she just needs a break. Lucky for us I have a baby Rowenta when momma’s on a vacation.

SEWING NEWS

I needed said iron because I am working on the quilt from HELL!  The previously blogged about Frank Lloyd Wright quilt, for the BG’s old boss…..uggggg.  Good thing I am listening to a great book, The Helpby Kathryn Stockett. I can just listen and pretend I am sewing something fun!41c9oB338pL__BO2,204,203,200_PIsitb-sticker-arrow-big-look,TopRight,35,-76_AA240_SH20_OU01_

I did stop and make this little curtain for the bookshelf in my sewing room.

And I started working on my wool/sampler kit from Primitive Gatherings last night while the BG and I watched LOST on DVD. We started watching LOST  from season one, we are on season 3 right now. It’s been great fun to watch them and see things we didn’t catch while watching it on the boob tube the first time.

The BG leaves for Oregon on Thursday. We aren’t sure now if they hire him if we are going to be placed in Portland, or Salem.  For fun we checked out Salem, and it looks like a pretty cool place! We scanned through some rentals on Craig’s List and there were some nice affordable rentals with FENCED BACK YARDS!! yipppppeeee

Yes, I’m reading through tears. Of course I still expect to see you.

Catching up on my blog reading! All your projects are wonderful of course, and I love the pineapple table topper in a previous post! Good Luck with the move and enjoy your summer off!

OMG! You are full of news Missy! I too am looking forward to Summer and some much needed rest from “real life” although getting ready for a move is not what I would call a relaxing Summer, duh!~ and with two young children???Nope, that takes more will power than I can muster. Although it is kind’a exciting though. New place, new possibilities. I can remember the days when moving didn’t strike fear in my core. But that was way before I hit forty, trust me, at forty you don’t wanna move, unless you’re downsizing and laving half of your crap behind, LOL! So you might as well do it now, LOL!!!!
